Desde 2004, the Tourism Observatory of Lisbon has conducted an annual study on the profile of the foreign golfer and importance of golf as crucial tourism product promotion strategy of Portugal, particularly in the Lisbon region.
Having this objective based on a survey was conducted throughout the year 2019 shows a 617 individuals representative of the international players who practice the sport at the golf courses in the Lisbon area.
The findings show that the majority of respondents were male and sex derived from the UK with an age range between 45 e os 54 years and who preferred to travel in your company / his companion. Sought accommodation in Sintra (28,9%) and the Setúbal Peninsula (24,2%) opting for long stay (7 noites).
The study further indicates that 27% of respondents already knew the Lisbon Region and for those who did not know the destination of choice due to the information obtained from the press, and golf magazines and advice from friends and family in view of the climate, the price and supply of other activities.
Golfers who best appreciated, em média, their experience in the practice of golf in Lisbon Region were Norwegians, Danes and Swedes.
