Passenger and airline fines continue

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), informed that they were fined at Portuguese airports between 1 e 26 December due to lack of negative test for SARS-CoV-2, or recovery certificate, cerca de 1.700 passageiros.

The MAI also indicates that 1.698 administrative offenses include eight foreigners who were refused entry into the country for not having presented a test on arrival, as it is only allowed to carry out the test at the airport to citizens of Portuguese nationality, foreigners residing in Portugal and diplomatic staff.

on land borders, all citizens from countries outside the European Union and from EU countries considered to be at risk red or dark red need a negative test or recovery certificate.

Citizens from EU countries considered to be at low or moderate risk must carry a vaccination certificate, test or recovery to enter Portugal.

At land borders to ensure testing of covid-19, the GNR and the SEF even carried out 26 de Dezembro 6.327 operations that gave rise to 32 administrative offenses for lack of test or recovery certificate.
