We will be more respected in the world if we respect ourselves, Pedro Nuno dos Santos, Minister of Infrastructure and Housing

I do not like to leave offenses to the Portuguese State and the Government unanswered. Not everyone understands that a State and a Government must also respect each other.. But that's the way each of us looks at political life.. It was the Minister of Infrastructure who said it loud and clear., Pedro Nuno Santos, justifying the reaction to Ryanair's criticism of state aid to TAP.

Remember the facts: no passado dia 26 de Maio, during a meeting, by videoconference, with the Minister of Infrastructure, the president of the Ryanair group, Michael O’Leary, regretted that the Portuguese government is to waste (SIC) taxpayers' money at TAP, arguing that it should be applied in schools, hospitals and other infrastructure, like Montijo airport, instead of in a failed airline with high prices.

A statement that had an immediate response from Pedro Nuno Santos. Em comunicado, the ruler said not to accept intrusions or lessons” by Ryanair, ensuring that investment in TAP is structuring. The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing also regretted that the Irish company was taking advantage of a difficult situation and stressed that the Ryanair is a private company and does not have to interfere in the sovereign decisions taken by the Portuguese Government.

TAP is the first European airline – it's not just portuguese, is european -, connecting Europe to Brazil and more than 10 West African countries.

To Pedro Nuno dos Santos, the Portuguese should have more proud in your country.

We cannot lightly accept that an entrepreneur, even as a great businessman, can say what you want about a Government and expect silence from the same Government. This is not a country to give yourself respect. We will be more respected in the world if we respect ourselves, frisou.
