The city of Évora will count, from next June, more properly the 15 de Junho, with a new four-star hotel, that will open in a “soft opening” regime.
This is the Hotel O Cante, located about 50 meters from the Portas de Alconchel, one of the main entrances to the historic center of Évora and which was scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2020, but it was postponed, due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The new hotel unit will have 50 quartos, dos quais 18 are studios equipped with 'kitchenette' and one of them is a suite with hydromassage. In addition to the accommodation units, the hotel is complemented by a restaurant, bar, spa, pool and union room.
The promoting company, a Universacontece, reveals that the investment is five million euros, including a two million euro stake in tourism funds.
According to information from prosecutors, the Hotel O Cante wants to offer an Alentejo experience.
Assim, all rooms are decorated with details related to the region, like original Alentejo blankets, photographs depicting the work culture of the Alentejo and verses of songs from the Alentejo song written on the walls. It should be added that the members of the hotel team at the reception and in the restaurant will be dressed in uniforms that are usually worn by members of the Alentejo sing groups.
