The opening of the tourist corridor with the United Kingdom, that started Monday, was considered by the president of the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CTP), Francisco Calheiros, as a great news.
Referring not to be concerned with the entry of tourists and the impact on the evolution of the pandemic, the president of CTP maintained that this is due to the fact that all tourists, without exception, having to present a negative test performed on 48 hours prior to disembarking at any of the national airports.
Francisco Calheiros spoke this Tuesday, em Lisboa, on the sidelines of the press conference for the presentation of the National Council of Portuguese Confederations, organization that joins the four confederations with a seat in the Social Concert (CAP, CCP, CIP and CTP) and also the Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate,
– That's the reason that I'm not worried. They are tourists that we really miss, needed.
The Tourism Confederation of Portugal (CTP) now joins the National Council of Employers' Confederations (CNCP), platform created yesterday, dia 18 de Maio, which aims to strengthen and accelerate the recovery of the business fabric and the national economy.
The five Confederations representing strategic sectors for the country decided to join their voices in the CNCP, making a commitment to defend companies in the face of adversity that threatens them and the urgency to put them at the center of the recovery, which should be based on a new generation of public policies and on the efficient use, rigorous and transparent use of public resources, national and european.
The CNCP assumes, desta forma, a mobilizing role for the companies represented in the confederations that constitute it, making their voices heard in defense of their common interests and the matrix causes they share, as the primacy of the private initiative and the market economy, the defense of companies, the promotion of entrepreneurship, as well as the dignity of the entrepreneurs and the valorization of their collaborators.
From a medium to long term perspective, Confederations assume, in their common action, the defense of a favorable environment for companies to overcome the major cross-cutting challenges they face.
