Em recente comunicado, the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, justifying the decision to only allow passengers living in Portugal to embark for China if they do so on direct flights, stresses that this with the serious and complex situation of the covid-19 pandemic in Portugal and the need to avoid cross-infection in transit.

Nesse sentido, the Chinese embassy stopped accepting requests for the issuance of a green colored health code submitted by permanent residents in Portugal wishing to travel to China via another country.

Remember that currently there is only a direct air link between China and Portugal, with Beijing Capital Airlines flying between Lisbon and Xi'an, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

It can also be read in the statement from the Chinese Embassy in Portugal that health codes are no longer issued to passengers living in other countries that have direct connections with China., but who intend to fly from Lisbon.

The only exception is passengers coming from countries without direct flights to China that have a green health code issued by the Chinese Embassy in the country of origin.
