Austria "bans" travel to Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova

The Austrian Chancellor declared that more and more cases of infection by the new coronavirus coming from abroad are being detected. Namely from Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova.

Nesse sentido, Sebastian Kurz, made an urgent appeal for Austrians or foreigners in the country not to travel to these countries.

Ao mesmo tempo, Austria strengthened border controls with Hungary and Slovenia due to increased spread of coronavirus in the region.

Sebastian Kurz pointed out that anyone arriving in Austria from Bulgaria, from Romania or Moldova must have a negative test done less than four days before or undergo a two-week quarantine. Whoever does not respect the quarantine incurs a fine of 1.450 euros.

Remember that Portugal, just like the UK, the Sweden, the German region of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Italian region of Lombardy are also on the Austrian list of destinations not recommended.
