Tolls on ex-SCUT and cheaper motorways inland

The Council of Ministers approved a reduction in the price of tolls on ex-SCUT and on inland highways, one of the major demands of the tourism sector, mainly from entities and entrepreneurs linked to tourism in those territories.

At the press conference after the meeting, the Minister for Territorial Cohesion, Sathya A, said that this measure is part of the Government's Program and aims to reduce context costs and bring people closer together in the context of Territorial Cohesion, in addition to facilitating the use of safer routes. Access to this reduction is universal, through electronic identifier.

The discount model includes, not cumulatively: a reduction of 25% for class vehicles 1 e 2, since the 8th day of use in a month on the same track. This discount will apply to certain stretches or sub-stretches of 10 ways: A22 – Algarve; A23 - IP; A23 - Beira Interior; A24 - Interior North; A25 - Beiras Litoral and Alta; A28 - North Coast; A4 - AE Sub-Concession; A4 - Marão Tunnel; A13 and A13-1 – Sub-concession of Pinhal Interior.

The resolution, will take effect from 1 de Janeiro de 2021, taking into account the need to adapt electronic toll collection systems.
