The Pestana Hotel Group introduced the first phase of the Pousada Vila de Óbidos, located within the walls of the medieval town, in the space of the old Hospital of mercy. This building is the first core of the expansion of the brand, making available now 17 quartos.
At the beginning of next year, the Pousadas de Portugal will inaugurate the Inn of the Population (core 2) com 11 new rooms only 150 metres away. The new triple cores the hotel capacity in the village representing an investment totalling 2 milhões de euros.
In an ongoing effort for the preservation and recovery of assets, The Pestana Hotel Group has developed the network expansion plan over the past 15 anos, now converting the historic Pousada de Portugal integrated in Charming Hotels brand. Situated just 200 metres from the Chateau, the new unit is the starting point for exploring the village inside walls, in what is one of the main tourist destinations in the country and that maintains unaltered the typical stone sidewalks and whitewashed houses.
Pousada da Vila de Óbidos presents two features V-shaped facades (Vila) and has 17 rooms divided in three typologies – Pousada, Superior and Premium – and carefully selected furnishings, providing a welcoming atmosphere which excels the comfort and authenticity. All rooms are equipped with 21ST century amenities and offer the unique experience of sleeping in a 17TH century building overlooking the medieval village. The unit also features a breakfast area that stretches from the inner courtyard of the unit.
The new Pousada da Vila de Óbidos is just 3 minutes walk from the castle of Óbidos – considered one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal – representing the first national monument to include the network Pousadas de Portugal.
