Turismo de Portugal has just launched two initiatives to strengthen the confidence of tourists visiting the country by facilitating and promoting compliance with the preventive health rules for the dissemination of Covid-19.
This is the ‘Protected Tourist’ kit and the adaptation of the www.portugalcleanandsafe.com platform as a database of tourists visiting us.
The ‘Protected Tourist’ kit is a joint initiative of Turismo de Portugal, ANA Airports and Regional Tourism Promotion Agencies (Algarve, Lisboa, Alentejo e Ribatejo, Centro, Porto and North and Azores).
-To be distributed to tourists arriving in the country, each ‘kit’ will contain two “Portuguese Mask”, level certification masks 3 CITEVE, that meet the safety criteria for the general population and are 100% biodegradable (100% cotton), thereby reducing the impact on the environment, a pack of alcohol gel, protection advice and a ‘QR Code’ to access the ‘Protected Tourist website where you can consult companies that already have a seal issued and evaluate (through a traffic light system) compliance by companies with the conditions for the award of the seal, explains the statement from Turismo de Portugal.
The www.portugalcleanandsafe.com platform also includes a registration system for tourists interested in receiving information sent by Turismo de Portugal, as well as having access to a set of information to support tourists in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in our country.
The possibility of this site also includes the ‘PLC - Passenger Locator Card Digital’ (or Digital Passenger Location Card). Developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, DGS and ANAC, aims to assist health authorities in locating passengers who may have been exposed to Covid-19. Para isso, passengers will only have to complete an ‘online’ form with their personal and flight information, allowing to be contacted in case of need. The form, in Portuguese and English will be available on the website https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt.
These initiatives complement other actions launched by Turismo de Portugal to reinforce our country's position as a safe and prepared destination ”.
Neste âmbito, not only the ‘Portugal Health Passport’, which allows international tourists the possibility of testing Covid-19 and accessing urgent, high-quality healthcare or 'check-ups' from 5 different typologies, in CUF's network of hospitals and clinics, Hospital da Luz, HPA Health and Lusíadas -, but also ‘Portugal Travel Insurance’, through which visitors residing abroad and who are planning their holidays in Portugal can take out travel insurance adapted to the new pandemic reality.
Turismo de Portugal stresses that, with the objective of projecting the country internationally and encouraging the resumption of tourism activity, the Turismo de Turismo de Portugal teams, present in 26 strategic markets, have also intensified their work with airlines, operadores turísticos, press and final consumer.
