Madeira has a new brand image for tourism promotion

Madeira has had since yesterday a new brand image for the promotion of the destination.

The new logo was yesterday (12) presented at the People's Square, no Funchal, by the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, and consists of the word ‘Madeira’, with letters formed from overlapping circles and semicircles of various colors.

According to Eduardo Jesus it resulted from a great design study, which involved a survey about 9.000 agents and professionals in the tourism sector.

The official stressed that all campaigns that Madeira has prepared for the short and medium term already incorporate the new ‘Madeira brand‘, acrescentando que it will be a great revolution in communication” of fate.

Eduardo Jesus also stressed that the new image intends to represent the feeling of belonging to destiny, as well as the union, the underlying convergence and inclusion, the circle was considered the symbol that best represents the message.

This presentation was also attended by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, and the director of the Madeira Promotion Association, Nuno Vale.

To a question from the Opção Turismo about the value of this investment, Eduardo Jesus said that Madeira will invest one million euros in promoting and communicating the destination using the new brand image, which has now been presented to the public.

This representation is the end of a story that we want to be the beginning of another, said Eduardo Jesus, showing confidence in the full reopening of tourist activity in the archipelago since summer.

Finalizing, the regional secretary highlighted some aspects related to destination security in the face of the covid-19 pandemic, stressing that Madeira was the first and only Portuguese tourist region that opted for a certification against biological risks and, por outro lado, set up a sorting operation at ports and airports, in force since 01 de Julho de 2020.
