Macau: SJM expects to open a new casino in 2021

Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM) announced that the construction of the new Grand Lisboa Palace resort - to open during the first half of 2021 -, SJM's first in the Cotai range of casinos, is completed and only awaits the final inspection dates of the authorities, probably going on next month.

In the same information, the group reported that the Macau Gaming Society's net revenues were 92,5 million euros in the third quarter of the year, according to a statement from SJM, founded by gaming magnate Stanley Ho, already deceased.

Com mais de 20 Macau Casinos, SJM's revenues fell 89,6% in the third quarter of this year in relation to the same period of 2019.

For the group's vice president and executive director, Ambrose So, SJM's third quarter results continued to be impacted by the severe contraction in tourism caused by the covid-19 pandemic. However, he stressed that at the end of the quarter we started to see the beginning of a recovery in visitors, hotel occupancy and visitor expenses, stressed the responsible.
