APAVT chooses Madeira as a 'Preferred Destination' in 2021

Madeira is once again in 2021 the 'Preferred Destination' of the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (APAVT), just as it happened last year. The announcement comes from the office of the secretary of Tourism and Culture of the archipelago.

For the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, the choice comes at an ideal time to overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic to the tourist destination Madeira. The official also said he believed that, as at other heights, APAVT and all its associates will be part of a process that is expected to be the most successful.

The official presentation of the distinction takes place next Friday, through webinar, in which they will participate, entre outros, Eduardo Jesus and the president of APAVT, Pedro Costa Ferreira.

Em comunicado, the Regional Government stresses that this assignment is an annual project that aims to boost tourist flows to a given destination through marketing and working at the technical level with tour operators and travel agents.

Eduardo Jesus also highlights that the relationship between the Regional Government and APAVT has always been guided by common and enthusiastic involvement, over all these years, highlighting

the determined attitude in innovation that Madeira intends to deepen the development of this partnership with APAVT.

It is recalled that tourism is the main sector of Madeira's economic activity and one of the most affected by the covid-19 pandemic..
