All international flights will now be permitted to and from South Africa, according to the pandemic containment protocols and the presentation of a Covid-19 negative certificate.
The announcement was made by the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa, who stressed that this recovery aims to help the country's economy in recession to face a possible second wave of the new coronavirus.
The head of state added that the decision is aimed at assisting South African companies, particularly in the hospitality and tourism sector, noting that the government has also decided to normalize the opening hours of the liquor trade, in a country that has had a relatively stable number of new infections for more than two months.
