Quinta da Aveleda
The Aveleda Group is owned by the same family, the Guedes family, there is already 5 generations. Actualmente, the company is managed by two descendants of the 5th generation, António Azevedo Guedes and Martim Guedes.
Since its foundation in 1870, the passion for wine, the sustainable treatment of the environment, Biodiversity and attention to detail remain the company's guiding principles.

Winemaking:
A sui generis varietal with Alvarinho grapes from 2 distinct terroirs in the Vinho Verde Region, giving a unique personality to the queen variety of Portuguese white wines.
The harvest is at night to guarantee the freshness of the grapes and the maintenance of their aromatic properties.
In the winemaking center, these are subjected to a gentle pressing at low pressure.
Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at controlled temperatures, followed by aging in a stainless steel tank, during which the lees are kept in suspension, allowing to give structure to the wine and extract the maximum amount of aromas from the variety.
Harvest 2020:
Winter was cold and rainy, which allowed the restoration of water levels in the soil. The rise in temperature in February caused the bud break was earlier than normal, especially in the most Atlantic parts of the region.. Spring was challenging, with incidence of mildew, having caused strong pressure on flowering. The precipitation that was felt led to misalignment in localized areas. The summer was very favorable, with little rain and heat.
The harvest was not as early as expected and took place without rain for several weeks, which allowed to extend the maturation in time. It was already possible to count on grapes from new vines, for example from Quinta de Cabração (Ponte de Lima), where did the first harvest.
The wines from this vintage are of the highest quality.
Test results:

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures to maintain the most typical aromas of the varieties. During fermentation the lees are kept in suspension to preserve the freshness of the wine.
