'To resist, To flourish, Innovate ’is the central theme of the 17th Congress of the Portuguese Hotel Directors Association (ADHP) that will take place between the days 27 e 29 deste mês, in Paul VI Pastoral Center, in Fatima.
The congress intends to analyze the main issues that have to do with the tourism sector, who go through education and employment, new forms of work and industrial relations, innovation, sustainability challenges, air links, as well as health security and tourism promotion.
For Saturday, dia 29 de Maio, ADHP has prepared a cultural program that includes visits to the Sanctuary of Fátima and the city of Ourém.
The President of .CONCERNING, Raúl Rajput, stresses that, with this congress, we intend to present capable information from our class,debating essential topics to empower ourselves with the actions to be developed in the hotel units we manage.
On the first night of the congress (dia 27), will be assigned, at Quinta Dom Nuno (Fatima), the Xenios 2021 - Awards for Excellence in Hospitality, who annually distinguish the best directors of hotels and companies in the tourism sector in Portugal.
The ADHP Congress program starts at 2:30 pm with a welcome reception from the President of the Association, followed by interventions by Rita Marques, Secretary of State of tourism, Francisco Calheiros, President of the Confederation of the Turismo de Portugal, Luís Miguel Albuquerque, Mayor of Ourém, Pedro Machado, presidente da Entidade Regional de Turismo do Centro, culminating in the words of Father Carlos Cabecinhas, rector of the Shrine of Fátima.
The first Panel, starting at 03:00 pm, will address ‘Education and Employment in the Tourism Sector’, that will have as speakers Ana Paula Pais, coordinating director of Tourism of Portugal, António Melo, Professor at the Porto Polytechnic Institute and Carlos Díaz de la Lastra, director-general Les Roches Marbella.
The panel dedicated to “Aerial Connections and Health Security” will begin at 4:30 pm. This session will feature Anabela Jorge, chairman of the UCS Board of Directors – Grupo TAP, José Lopes, director da easyJet Portugal, and Carlos Brito, general secretary of RENA – Association of Airlines in Portugal), as stakeholders.
The second day of the congress, com início às 9h30, will debate ‘Sustainability Challenges’. To address the topic, Leonor Picão will be present, director of Tourism of Portugal and Álvaro Silveira, Consulting Diretor at Mazars.
The second theme of the day, ‘New Ways of Working and Labor Relations”, will be focused from 11.15. Ana Lima Neves, executive director of the Green Paper on the Future of Work, Vítor Silva, Human Resources Director at Hotel Intercontinental Lisboa and Sandrine Veríssimo, Regional Director of HAYS, will give their opinion in view of the current situation of this thematic.
'Innovate? For what?’Will be the motto for the first afternoon panel, starting at 03:00 pm. As speakers will be Luís Monteiro, Chief of Strategy at Wise Pirates and Luís Sequeira, Product Owner na Omnibees.
The last topic under debate will be ‘Tourism Promotion’ and will focus on the new strategy of Turismo de Portugal. Filipe Silva, member of the Management Council of Turismo de Portugal, Pedro Machado, president of Turismo do Centro and Marcos Sousa, general manager of NAU Hotel Group), will be the actors.
The congress will end at 6 pm, with a conclusive message from Raúl Ribeiro Ferreira, Chairman of the Board of ADHP.
