Cabo Verde: St. Vincent will have Cruise Terminal

The cruise terminal of Saint Vincent, which is estimated to be ready in two years, should increase to 75 thousand the number of tourists on the island. These predictions were announced by Rogério Soulé, engineer and technical director of ENAPOR, that presented the draft of the cruise terminal on the island of São Vicente, during the recent signing of a donation of 10 million from the Dutch Fund for the construction of infrastructure ORIO.

Actualmente, the São Vicente Island receives about 48 Grand cruise tourists per year, but with the terminal, It is expected that in 2025, five years after the construction, the island can accommodate about of 75 Grand cruise tourists, estimated in 200 Grand cruise travelers in 2035.

The cruise ship terminal, budgeted at 29 milhões de euros, should be operational within two years, terá 400 metres of compliance and 13 wide, in a project that will also have other services, as a pier for luxury yachts, Gare de reception of tourists and parking for taxis and buses.

This project is funded by the OFID Fund, the OPEC, and ORIO, from Holland, and the Government of Cape Verde, that will provide about 3 million euros.
